Well if any boolit has one this will be it. :-D

Here are some results with the 44FWC group buy mould from Old West Bullet Mould.

(odd to have test results before the moulds have been delivered huh. [smilie=1: )

I posted a pic earlier of 3 shots at 25 yds. Well I hung the target back up (yes at 25 yds again) the next day and shot 3 more shots at it. Here it is.

You wouldn't happen to have any "extra" of these group buy molds, would ya? I think I missed out on a good one here.

PM sent.

After the group buy is delivered I'll tell everyone how they can order a mould if they want it.

Hello Blammer
Just to let you know that my 44 FWC arrived 2-7 09 here in NM, after i order another heating coil I'll cast some and try,, (or dip some out of the pot with the dipping ladle if time allows).. the sprue and the mould has some very sharp edges on the outside and I'll smooth them off with 400 grit and lube all parts before the FUN begins .... the mould looks very sharp and tight on the inside one of the best i've seen, in my short time of casting.......... for the GB Thanks again..

That is one nice looking .44 projectile I must say.

How is there a "negative B. C." or is that just a figure of speach given the bullet mentioned?

just a figure of speech. I originally made the comment that it was as aerodynamic as a brick and was bound to have a negative Ballistic coefficient.

Hey, that looks like the old Lyman #429352.

"Negative B.C.?" It's going to accelerate as it flies downrange?

But what a hole! does not need expansion!

wiljen was right, just a "figure of speach" from a comment he lamented earlier.. :)

No, I just figured if 0 was as bad as a ballistic coefficient could possibly get, this one was a negative number.

Reminds me of "the flying ash tray" 45 ACP round... :-D

That's cool. Got to admit it don't have a very good BC! However, my guess is you'all aren't looking at 600-1000 yard matches;-) Quite a decent WC!

Piwo, I still wish they made the "flying ashtray" bullet. I liked that one.

That was the best .45 ACP bullet bar none. I'm still very carefull how I expend my small horde.

Actually, that's not even close: I have a 38 caliber full wadcutter that drops at 74 grains. I can get three of them in a 357 Mag case. And as far as a projectile accellerating as it goes downrange, there actually was such a beastie, and not all that long ago, either. How may of you remember the Gyrojet? 45 caliber, and actually chronographed fster at 25 yards than at the muzzle.
