So I know Marlin micro groove 1894 and 1895s have issues with undersized lead boolits. Does anyone know if it would work or if so what molds would be a good option for both 45 Colt and 45/70 Marlins?

In theory maybe a hollow based bullet would work.

My Marlin 1894CB in .45 Colt has standard six groove rifling, Marlin terms it Ballard style. I've had zero problems with it using the Lyman 452424 lubed with FWFL.

For 45-70, consider this one.

Some find it useful with smokeless loads, but do not get into heavy loads or it will blow the skirt. Not for 45 colt.
