Because of space constraints, I have to park one vehicle very close behind another in my driveway. Does anyone know of something that will indicate when the back car is within an inch or so of the front vehicle? The front vehicle has a hitch receiver that is too low to see from the back car and I don't want to damage the back vehicle's front bumper. Something removable that would fit into that receiver would be best.

Have you ever seen the hard rubber parking bumps? Basically it's a thick, flat hard rubber mat with two bumps on it. When your front tire runs over the first bump and hasn't hit the second bump you're where you want to be. Only problem is if the mat gets moved, so I have a chalk outline on my garage floor where the mat has to be located to be properly positioned.

Another idea would be to get an old car radio antenna and tie a little colored plastic streamer on the top. Affix it to the trailer hitch with an improvised holder that would slip over the hitch and hold it maybe 6 inches from the hitch. When you see the antenna starting to bend you'd know it was very close.

I use the bicycle flag thingy inserted into a weight on the floor so she won't crash my shelf in the garage.

You could make a frame out of wire and it would dangle a tennis ball on a string. Adjust it so that the the tennis ball touches the windshield when you're in the correct location.

Or buy a back up camera.

Or buy a back up camera.

I was pleasantly surprised to find that my aftermarket back-up camera had adjustable virtual alarm lines (green, yellow and red) just like a factory unit. It is a toggle feature and it was about three weeks before I found it. They are life savers.

Get one of these and extend the rod so you can see it.

Minerat's idea , post #8 , seems to be the best solution . Cheap , easy , quick install .
Even if left in place on the car when driven ... it won't hurt anything ... nothing permanent installed ... Buy two and put one on both , park either car in front or back .

ATTABOY Minerat ... Good One !
