I'm thinking 358429. Does anyone use those two powders in their .357 rifle. I'd love to know what kind of velocity I can expect. I will be filling the cases to slightly higher than the bullet base. I dont have caliber size ...spacer?...but can pick up a bag of the felt wads if needed. Any info would be appreciated.

I find 777 to be lot cleaner and easier cleanup than Pyrodex. I loaded some up in 38spl and fired them in a 1851 conversion and it worked fine. I've been experimenting with it in various rifle cartridges.

the 357 makes a way cool blackpowder round --- 26 grains of FFFg under the LEE 158 flatpoint boolit - cleanup is a cinch, (as all blackpowder cleanups should be) , reloading is deadeasy - if ya wanna get technical can use a juice box wad over the powder - my Rossi 92 shot fine without.

I use APP in my Rossi 92 and Ruger vaqueros. I don’t use any wad, just powder to the base of the 158 RF Bullet. Shoots great, lots of smoke and easy cleanup.

Triple Seven or Black powder - the only good use for Pyrodex is blowing stumps!

You should not compress triple 7 as you would a black powder load. You would measure by volume the same as for black. You can check the Hodgdon web site for load info.

Thanks gang, what velocity can I expect. I'm going to try ffg triple 7 and pyrojunk in my rifle because I don't have any stumps. Thanks again.
