Hi I would like to make some plinking ammo for my 350 legend with projectiles I use for my 9mm.

I bought 1000 125grain green powder coated bullets from dg bullets. I have used them in the 9mm can I load them for my savage axis bolt action? I use 25grains of lil gun for my 170 grain Hornady hunting rounds.

There is data for 125 gr bullets on the Hodgdon site. 25 gr of Lil'Gun is going to get you about 2500 fps. Too fast IMO for those bullets.

I would start with a load for the .357 Mag using one of the faster powders like Unique or HP38.

357 MAX data is safe in the Legend. The maxi is SLIGHTLY less powder cap & its loaded to 40k the 350 has slightly MORE cap and is loaded to 52K.

In load I have tried maximum 357Maximum loads have been like a lite starting load in the Legend. Should be especially good with lead. (Has been for me)

Good luck

So I have this long reply typed out and then something happened and it wiped everything that I wrote.

Long story short I figured out a few things like I can run powder coated bullets at 2500 FPS.

I also learned that little gun is best suited for bullets that are 147 grain above in the 350 legend. This has to do with the actual volume of the powder in the case. Imr 4227 is a fluffier powder used for lighter grain bullets in that 350. That's a Browning that way with using 124 grain bullet that was barely seated using 24 grains of an extruded stick powder.

Also wanted to add that I think it's fascinating that you guys cast your own bullets and something that I look forward into getting into.

1. The legend has a very picky throat. Measure/Calculate MAX OAL for that bullet in your rifle

2. Then go here and use the min 4227 load for Rifle/350Legend/125gr
