.410 is my latest caliber I have been loading for and was wondering if anyone was loading or casting slugs? I did a search and came up with zero! I have read using 40 cal. bullets are unstable.....

I've had best results with round balls.

A .390-.395 drops safely through most full choke .410s, a .420-.425 in a true cylinder bore.

In limited trials with the Savrog slugs they keyholed from my smoothbore .410, but shot OK in a .38-40 rifle.

Same here! (Hello Ed) 390/395 have shot extremely well for me. I use a "stump wad" and have also found that a glued in, upside down LEE 410-145 cast bullet SHOOTS VERY VERY WELL!! No sights 6/7" @ 100yards. With sights Im sure I could half that size!!

I have a few videos on my uTube site.

Any special kind of glue? To get your accuracy do you want the wads to stay attached or should they drop off?

thanks

I ordered a couple different types from BP, I'll look at options, once they are here.

I have tried super glue and hot glue.

Last batch was silicone.

Hot glue definitely did break free. I have t seen super or silicone break. I think silicone has been best. I even screwed some but need to make a jig as keeping it perfectly centered by hand is difficult.
