I picked up a decent Spanish Destroyer Carbine and don’t want to alter it to make it use 9mm Luger ammunition.
I plan to get a couple of the Destroyers from SARCO that are missing the bolts and have cracked stocks and a barreled receiver to modify.
Since I now have a bolt to copy and the Largo cartridge is not high pressure I am going to copy the bolt to use in the 9mm Luger version.
9mm 1911 mags can be easily modified to use in the Destroyer so that solves that problem!

I am making progress, mainly taking measurements and making sketches!

Id like to see your progress. Any pics?

I don’t know how to post pics!

In the reply box there is an icon for attachments. If your pics are on a pc hit "choose file" and then "upload". If the pic file is too large, it will fail. I open them in Paint and resize to 50%.

Cool project! I'd consider a bent spring extractor, the extractor retention design on the original is, IMO, tenuous.

It is getting tedious taking measurements and making the drawings!
Lots of details.

I have made the bolt handle and I am almost finished with the shaft drawings!
I made a mistake on the first one and will use to test bending it!
I am going to have to make a fixture to make sure that the timing is right during different operations and it will double as the jig for silver soldering the handle on the shaft.

Starting to make the long part of the bolts since I figured out how to contour the area between the bolt lugs to match the radius of the rest of the shaft!

Any chance you might make some to sell once you've got it down?

I would be interested in buying them also.

Not a chance, too much time and too much liability exposure!

Wow, I can’t believe that it has been this long since I started this project!
I have made some progress!
I made the bolt nose, safety, cocking piece, firing pin, firing pin spring, bolt body and extractor ring!
I have started on the extractor today!
Intricate little part and small with a lot of details.

Started on the extractor!
I had to buy some 4140 and it is prehardened. Pain to cut and I have had to use carbide end mills to make any decent cuts.
I made 5 blanks and a jig to hold the blanks while making the cuts.
One part is only 0.040” thick and I don’t want to take a chance gouging the vise jaws!

Finished the jig to hold the extractor blank!
I need to make some holes 0.173” and 0.071” to make the hole that the extractor ring goes in!
Then make the cuts to reduce the thickness and then put an inside radius on them!
Little tiny part not much bigger than 2 kitchen matchs!
