This is the first time I have used these hulls and I fired the one that is puffed up a little.....I did fire it in my AR12.... not my pump slug shotgun. Does this look ok to you all?

Load:
Foicchi 2 3/4 inch hull,
CCI 209 (called for Fio606)
28 Universal
1 1/8 oz DGS
11000
1520

Hard to tell by the photo but are those primers backing out?

Yes, I’m told that is because I used American primers in Euro hulls

Yes they will, especially with hot loads and yours are pretty warm. I would find some federal hulls if I could and tone the loads down to the 1400 fps range (or less) for more comfortable shooting.

I'm limited on hulls for these DGS, they list mostly Foi and Rio hulls. I don't like the Foi hulls, they seem real cheaply made. I have a bunch of Gold Medal and Remington 3" PB hulls, but no load data for these rounds. I am wondering if I can just use slug data, though I noticed the 1 1/8 oz slugs, the slug its self, is less than one oz, the hull that is part of the slug makes up the rest of the weight.

Ah, BPI stuff. It used to be all Cheddite and Federal, now they're all about Fiocchi. Yes, if the slug and wad combined = 1 oz use 1 oz data. If you have a skeet or trap organization nearby they will have some Federal (probably TopGun) hulls. Just checking, never seen 3" Gold Medal, sure they're not 2 3/4"?

BPI also has a tool to cure the loose primer fit. It tightens the hole to USA size primer

Yes, the gold medal are 2 3/4 inch, just the Foich are 3 inch.

Thanks Greezer, I talked to BP yesterday and told them to add it to my order, bought 5 more boxes of the 1 3/8 oz DGS!!

There should be plenty of data for the Gold Medals, best hull made.

I have no trouble finding data for Sabot slugs with Gold Medals, just these DGS.....or should I just be looking at the weight of the slug and go with that? I did notice different slugs of the same weight had a little different powder weights...... And then there are the hulls, since the seal cup of halls aren't all the same, that also changes the pressures, so this is what I'm having trouble with.

if slug and wad weigh about 1 oz you're good. A lot of those slug recipes are really stout anyway....start several grains under. If this a smoothbore shoot cylinder or improved cylinder.

The ring around the hulls in the first pic looks to be either the base wad or you’re fixing to have head/case separation.

BPI has a slug loading manual with various loads for these DGS slugs. Good thing to have. I have to agree with the Federal hulls. They reload better than any other slug hulls out there. I like the Blue Low Recoil ones best.

Pics show how I refurbish the mouth of the hulls with a heat gun and Aluminum Spud ran on a drill motor. I have done this several times to the same hulls and not lost one yet. They Roll Crimp the same way every time if you start out with a fresh hull mouth. Crimper came from Reloaders Network. Works great and leaves a nice radius on the front end of the shell.

Note; I am not running these very hard, maybe 1200 fps. No need to for training use, and 3 gun shoots. Still will knock down most medium sized game if needed. 1OZ slug at 1200 fps is still a formidable combination.
