Prepping Accurate .50bmg mold?

Last month I received my first brass mold (MP 9mm HP). I was told to do heat cycling with it where I heat it up then let it cool down. Anything else I want to do to the Accurate when casting for .50bmg given the brand or caliber other than the same heat cycling to get it prepped to use?

- Scrub inside & out w/ a toothbrush and dish soap under hot tap water for 2-3 scrub/rinse cycles.
- Preheat the mould in a Dutch oven setup (https://thefiringline.com/forums/showpost.php?p=6814751&postcount=16) while the lead is melting.
- Your 1st bullet will be perfect.

When scrubbing, what am I getting off?

Any reason I can't just pop the molds in a toaster oven?

Machining oil. Dish soap should help break it down. My understanding is that heat cycling is not to burn out those oils but remove remaining tensions in metal.

Oh ok, good to know. What temp does that happen at? Last I was told, it took multiple heat/cool cycles to do it's thing. Thanks
