Best 41 Swiss duplicate bullet mold??

I’ve been using the Lee 310 GC just fine but want to cast bullets that most closely duplicate the original heeled, hollow base Bullet design. Any suggestions??
I’ve found the 41 Vetterli mold from old west bullet molds. Casts 330 grains .432" driving bands. Heel is .424" diameter crimp at top of .424" heel.

Looks pretty close to me. Anyone cast this bullet and shoot it?

My bore is .427. I’m sizing the Lee 310’s to .3295-.330.

The Accurate 43-335B is a fairly close copy of an original. It is not a hollow base, and if you have converted to centerfire the round nose bullet should be replaced with a flat nose design for the tube magazine.

Round nose isn’t safe in the tube? Oh well. I just sent email cancelling my order at Old West. Too bad. Looked like a good design.

When selecting mold type from Accurate molds, what affect does size/depth of the mold have on casting? Extra depth provide a better heat sink or something for longer casting sessions? For this 43-335B bullet, what type and size mold do you suggest? Two cavity is my aim. Thinking aluminum for cost.

Here is the Accurate mold specification I have entered. Please let me know if these look good or should I make a change. As I mentioned before, my bore is .427”/.410”. If a different material justifies the cost please advise.

I'm confused by your statement. Do you mean groove size is .427" and bore is .410"? If bore is really .427", then your groove size is probably .440-.445".

Yes. I sometime get them turned around. The groove is .427” and the Lands(bore) is .410”

Sounds good. I’ll check it out. This accurate Bullet isn’t healed but does have the smaller forward diameter that should work. I may go ahead and order. Is there a mold block thickness that works best? I’m not sure what affect the thickness of the block has on casting a bullets.

I prefer the larger blocks because they hold the heat better. But they are a little heavier.

I selected a larger aluminum block. I hadn’t realized the picture didn’t attach correctly. Let’s try again. Should I choose thicker?

I went with the larger block, two cavity mold. I ordered mine at .430 it cast .435, I don't even size them I just tumble lube and load. I shoot them in 3 Vets with .428 to .430 barrels with no problems.

Don't know if he is still in business but Aussie. Co. called CBE (cast bullet engineering) makes a really good heeled bullet for the 41' Swiss, I cast mine soft 25-1 and it shoots really well

Found one from Brooks Moulds. Basically a vetterli reproduction but flat nose for safety.
