View Full Version : A place for the Extra Powder Measure next to the Dillon
285412So, here is a bracket that I made for my RCBS powder measure. I made it because I am always wishing it was closer to me when I am using the Dillon as more of a turret press than as a progressive.
Other than the labor of bending and drilling the steel, these are the parts involved:
1/8x1.5 inch mild steel from Home Depot $10
2 each 3.5 inch bolts to replace the 3.0 inch factory bolts. 1/4x20
2 each 1/4x20 nuts and washers

I've got to ask...
Why not use the Dillon as it's supposed to be used????
Do you not trust the equipment?
The Uniflo is much faster to setup for small batches and with certain powders, and I do not want to buy the Dillon powder powder funnel for calibers loaded in small numbers. I also have a Lee Perfect Powder Measure clamped onto my bench for large extruded and flake powders-it just works better.
I primarily load long tall rifle brass with the Uniflo and Lee Perfect Powder Measure.

Clever idea, I also use a rcbs measure for load development but have the nicer micrometer adjustment on it. It’s worth the extra money, works great, I take photos of my adjustments for future reference.

The powder funnel comes with the conversion kit.
That is true; I generally buy only the powder funnel. Dillon has a cross reference list in the back of the 650 manual. Most of my calibers are loaded on the 380/223/38SC and the 45/308/30.06/Mauser shell plate, case feed adapter, and locator pins.

I have a great cross reference spreadsheet.
If you need more than couple parts out of the conversion kit it's often less expensive to buy the whole thing.
