Unique proved better in mine with Lyman 450g @ 1075fps. Herco Green dot & Red Dot didnt shoot sell.

No experience with the .450, but Unique and Herco are both good with bullets like that in my .45-70. One of those things not in current manuals but the older Lyman manuals have the data.
One of those Rugers in .450 sounds cool, but I already reload and cast for too many things.

You're asking about using .458” bullets in a cartridge designed for .452” bullets. That is starting out with a big snag in the plan. Correct size and weight bullets used over Red Dot in a bolt action would not be hard to get going- try .45 Colt data.

Thanks for the tip Texas. I have used a 454 sizer and then a 452 sizer ....my pills are soft , they actually end up a touch over 450 after being pushed thru my 452 die. I wood never put a 458 size chunk of lead in a bushmaster rifle

Good show TrailBoss
I didnt comment to size as I assumed you knew this. I also size mine to 454 and shoot a few different cast bullets with zero issues excellent Preformance and great accuracy from some!!
