I own a French Berthier 1907-15 with a slightly worn bore as well as a Gewehr 98 which seems to have a worn throat and won't stop leading. I was using the NOE 326-221 mold and powder coating the heads, and GC, and sizing to .327 for G98 and .328 for Berthier and both leaded . Recently I got the Lee .329 mold and have fallen in love with it. Loaded in the Berthier I got it to shoot pretty good on paper for an old warhorse, zero leading. I'm about to try to load the G98 some of these and size to .328. I think it will solve the problem, but what do you guys think? I also tried the Lee Karabiner in both and was like the NOE, no luck...

... here the Lee ><200 grainer worked fine even with the bullet brutally Lee sized at .323 (!), GC, Lee Liquid Alox lubed, N140 Vitht.redux, in M95 Steyr with decent barrel.

Use the exact mould for my berthier and Lebel sized to .33. Also used in my gew98 sized to .329. It’s far too small to actually work as intended for m95’s.

Have had no leading with carnauba blue and red from white label lube.

I use that mold for my 8x58r Swedish rolling block. It's a generous size bore and 329" is a good fit.

Don't have much access to a smokeless range so haven't done much load work yet.

Does your G98 have a worn bore too? I may load those .328 to .329 for mine.

Not worn, but slugs at .326. For the G98 I seat the boolit to the bottom of the nose so that it chambers correctly.

I use the same mold for my 95 Steyr in 8x56rs…….works good!

I've obtained pretty good results with that Lee boolit, PC'd and sized .325, in an M38 Turk with a less than pristine bore (dark with some pitting of throat and first 3"-4 of barrel).

I shoot this bullet as originally intended for Steyr M95 8x56R . I gas check and thru size with homemade tools. Light loads of A5744 . Its VERY accurate
