Sad news. This post by Kenny Sumner pretty much says it all.

I don't know the particulars, but maybe someone will buy the land to keep it going.

But feeding these critters is outrageously expensive now.

He is not selling the range or the store. They will no longer do the shoot.

That scared me for a moment, I thought you meant Knob Creek whisky.

With cheap surplus ammo drying up a decade or more ago you could see it coming. I made it down for three Springtime shoots and had a ball. So enjoyable to be with so many like minded individuals.

I've never been there. Sad to hear of it closing.

If you can afford to own them you can afford to shoot them! Just sayin.

Maybe someone can make an agreement with him to take over the planning, setup, AND all cleanup so all he has to do is enjoy the company!

It's been on my bucket list for a long time.
I sure hope someone buys it and keeps it going.

Wifey and I will be going to the final shoot in October. Very sad news. Big Sandy is just so far away!

That's a shame. Machineguns Montana announced they will be holding a machine gun shoot somewhere here around Kalispell this summer. It would be nice to have an event like that local annually.

Middle ground: you buy components by the case (4 8 lb jugs and primers buy the case of 5000) and cast for the subgun calibers. Keeps the cost down to a somewhat almost manageable level.

Sad. I’ve been twice. Unbelievable, the night shoot was spectacular.

It was on my bucket list of things to do someday. I guess I'll have to think Nevada perhaps.

The military gun show that went along with it was fantastic. Tons of ammo and pulled down components. Parts kits, signal and illumination flares, pyrotechnic supplies etc. Talked to guys who would buy thousands of dollars worth of ammo for their years supply. The campground scene was a big part of it too. Took a side trip one year to Mammoth Cave NP.

sad even from here: it's something I've always envied_ it's no coincidence that the first video that arrived here, some yrs. ago, was edited with a soundtrack titled last resort, at full blast during the collective night shooting..._

I’ve been to a few both spring and fall shoots over the past few decades. Great time there. Met lots of folks, lots of vets.
I never joined any of the competition shoots but did watch many.
The gun show part was the largest I’ve ever been at. Everything you could imagine from civil war to present day. Bought cases of ammo back in the day and they would load up your cases on gators and take them out to your vehicle for you.
The night shoots were really cool. Being part of that was an expirence I’ll never have again.
My buddy and his son got to ride in the Huey around the range but didn’t fire the 50cal.
There are good videos on you tube but nothing beats the chest pounding of those weapons and pyrotechnics for those of us that never saw combat !

God bless all the men and women that serve and have served our country.
