Has anyone tried the Lee C132-185-1R in the 300 Blackout for Ar15 use. Like to hear about your results.

Yep back when I had a 300 BO , mine was set up for full power loads only as it had a 20"12 twist barrel . That 185 was the second most accurate cast bullet in mine first was the rcbs 165 . mainly used slower than the normal powders in mine REloader 7, 4198, and even a full case of 4895 all functioned and shot well

In my Blackout my throat was too tight for the nose of the 312-185 so I used the Harris bullet the 312-155 meant for the 7.62X39. The Harris bullet functioned very well and shot well also. While the 312-185 wasn't successful in my Blackout it works well in most other .30 caliber rifles and specially the .30-06 03-A3.

Do you recall what it was sized to and maybe a load for the 4198?

Seem to remember my barrel liked .310 and my mould dropped .301 nose which just scuffed the lands . As far as the load goes can't remember the grs exactly but was darn near full case with any of those three powders with no pressure issues

Thanks
Need to make up a dummy round and see how it goes. From what I have found around 10.5 gr for the 4198 and a 220-230gr bullet so would think 10.5 should be safe .

" The 30-06 03-A3 " Maybe in one with a two groove barrel like mine ? Tell me what you have discovered .
I bought the C312-185-1R for the 303 British ( No4 MKI ) hadn't considered the 03-A3 and 2-groove barrel ... it works well ?
Was thinking this boolit , 30-06 and 13 grs. Red Dot in the old 03-A3 for tin cans and paper targets .

I've used the Lee 312-185 sized to .311" in most of my thirty caliber rifles, usually in front of 16 grains of 2400 (I had that and didn't have Red Dot). Seems to work okay for my plinking loads.

Any new updates
No hands on experience, but I remember thinking as I was perusing loading manuals that the .300 Blackout with at least some loads was pretty close to the ballistic equivalent of a .32-40.

I have next to zero interest in an AR, so I probably won't try it. Probably.

Single Action and bolts have always been my favorite, but after turning 70 I thought I would give a Ar15 a chance. The 300blk came the closes to cal I like. Next month I turn 71 and would like it to be up and going for when this virus thing lets me back out to shoot.
