1st attempt at PC

My first attempt at PC and I'm happy! Eastwood ford light blue, shake and bake (no BBs) in my $10 yard sale convection oven. Humidity at 35%. Still warm on the paper.

Just a #5 Cool Whip container. No BBs, but I think I'm going to get some for better coverage.

really nice first (I don't feel right calling it an attempt) powdercoating experience>
BB's or poly pellets help the powder stick AND they help get a more even coating.

With a good powder the humidity is not as big a player, listen to Conditor22 and read his posts on it as he appears to know what he’s doing. The bb’s help when the humidity gets high, but clean dry bullets and good quality powder are a mandate.

Lookin good.
I gave up on the plastic bbs. Heat your boolits in the toaster
for a few minutes (kinda hot but touchable), then shake 'em
in the powder tub, works fine.

congratulations, they look great! how much of an increase in diameter did you get and have you sized any of them yet?

It does make you wonder though. I too had immediate success and wonder if it is really this easy or did we just get lucky? You know, missing out on the valuable lessons learned through trial and error. But in reality, I think the lessons shared by those preceding us have made it nearly foolproof. I spent at least three months reading, watching, asking and preparing before I did my first batch.

I'm looking to join the club here. Got an op shop oven for $24 and half a pound of powder coat paint. Could use a tray, I'll dig around a bit and see if I can come up with an appropriate size. Been a while since I've done any casting, did grab a Lee 6 banger in 200gr C RF that I'll give a whirl. Should be just right for the 35Rem. Cheers!

I would watch your powder if you have trouble as all powders are not created equal when it comes to treating boolits.

Thnx for the heads up, I got half a pound of metallic red Eastwood Hot Coat, I think, cheap. Found a tray, after some mods with the grinder, that'll fit my oven, which does heat up. I'll start slow.
