What is the frame, size wise, compared to a super black hawk 2 digit frame and a 3 digit frame?

The frame is slightly smaller than the current production Black Hawk. I bought one of each in 41 Remington Magnum. The Ruger was more accurate, so I sold the FA 97.

The FA97 is smaller than the NM mid frame flat top and slightly larger than a single six...

Don't know if you can tell from this picture, but lower left 5 1/2" FA97 .44 Special -- upper right full size 6" FA83 in .475 Linebaugh (basically same size as full size Ruger). The FA97 is 3/4 lbs lighter than the FA83 (37oz vs 49 oz) and is noticeably smaller.

The above .44 special is one of the most accurate handguns I've ever owned. It is also very versatile, accurately handling bullet weights from 180gr to 325gr.

Just my personal experience, others obviously differ.

By the looks of it the 97 and the flat top they are about the same size, I have a 44 flat top and to me its small, eats my knuckle when shot. I was hoping the 97 would be in between the full size and small frame rugers.
Lot of money for a gun I can't handle before buying, thanks for the info.
