When all done with PC/BB mix, do you sift out the BB’s and return the used PC to the original batch container? Thanks!

Yes, I reuse the powder. You can do it several ways, strain the BB's and powder or pull the bullets out of the container and knock the excess off by tapping forcepts or whatever you are using on the side.

So I take it that if all I have is a tumble container with BB’s and powder, I can sift the BB’s out and pour the powder back in Smoke’s bag???

I just take out the bullets with a pair of forceps and leave the powder with the BB's. Then just add more powder when needed. No sifting ever.

Thanks Hick! I was wondering that, too! Didn’t know if it would get moisture, etc. Makes sense, cause unless you mix, you’ll always have BB’s for that color! thanks!

I have a tub with lid for each color of PC I have. After shaking I take the pills out with a pair of those squeeze to open tweezers. I leave the BB's and the PC in the tub and add more when needed. Never gets any moisture in it.

Thank you tankgunnr! I’ll do just that. Label it, too.

Put the container in a fridge if you can, along with the extra powder! I have a small fridge in my shop, it works for me!

Really? I have a small one beside my reloading bench. Definitely should keep it dry! Thanks!

Same thing except I store the BB's with the small amount of powder in pint canning jars.

My shake and bake containers are a 4 sided heavy duty #5 container with an o-ring seal and a hinge snap on each of the 4 sides. So the container is air/moisture tight when not in use. I don't have to worry about humidity in my powder. I store the bags from Smoke in an ammo can with a large desiccant container.

How in the world do you avoid the cooled powder from attracting moisture when you go to use it? Or do you pull the containers from the fridge an hour or so before use to get them back up to ambient temps?

Cooling the powder just makes it cold. If it is open to cold air draft it may lose some moisture. Unfortunately, when exposed to warm air, moisture condenses on it.

Yep, what others said, get a container for each color, leave it in there if you can. Much easier and less waste. I have tried several containers to mix in. Had some Glad ones with a screw on lid, really liked them but they were tall and not so wide. I robbed some Glad sandwich tubs my wife had and they work awesome so the bullets are not as piled up on each other, more spread out. I never out the powder back in the bag. I do put a small plastic spoon in each color that stays in the main bag of powder.

Yes. As above, I pick the bullets out and place on the bake tray.

I have it out long enough to get what I need, then back in the fridge! As for the container my bullets are warmed up a little bit, from the heat source.
The lowcounty in the summer, un-air condition shop, I AM going to have moisture regardless what I do. It works for me, just throwing ideas out, find what works best for you!

Yea I too load in an unconditioned garage 150 feet away from a saltwater marsh. If I introduce anything cold to my environment, it immediately draws moisture. I spent 2+ years at NBC and as per my vivid recollections, brutal humidity was invented in the SC low country.

I use these Snapware bowls. Perfect size for Shake-n-Bake, Number 5 for good static, rubber seal and four snapdowns so it totally seals up, tough, stackable and cheap. I use one container for each color, then just leave the bbs and any leftover powder in them. 282666

I have a S lock (screw lid ) zip lock container for every powder I use personally. The powder and BB's stay in that container till used up then more powder is added as needed
It may be many months before I use a color again but it has always worked just fine.

Ever since i got the powder from Smoke4320 i have left the powder and bb's in the container.

It has been a while and i have had no problems.

I did send a friend to him to get a sample pack because he wanted to try it.

We have talked on the phone several times about what to do.

Even sent him here to do a lot of reading.

It pays off.

Thanks Smoke and plainsman!

I followed Smoke’s guide on PC and read lots here. It DOES pay off! Thanks!
