I saw that revolver and met Ted Keith at the NRA National convention in St. Louis in I think 1986 or '88. What a treat and privilege!!

I bet Elmer would have liked this one too! Lipsey's Ruger Flattop Bisley 44 Special, about as close as we get to a 90yr old icon, minus the bells and whistles and the obvious price tag...

Before it was auctioned off, the Keith Collection had a nice display at the Cabelas in Boise. Everything was under glass, of course, but I spent more than my fair share of time with my nose just inches away from those famous guns. Wish I had taken pictures.

wow... the gun sold for 80k it seems... i figured it would have went for much more..

When it sold, I posted on the Single Actions forum that; I didn't know if I was more surprised that it brought that or that it could be bought for that..........

Thank you for posting this video. After reading and studying Elmer and this gun, in particular, I would've loved to have just been able to hold that piece of gun history.

That gun is as close to Elmers No.5 I will ever get :)
