Bullseye 40 S&W

I am going to be loading some 170 boolits for the 40 S&W. Does anyone have any experience with Bullseye powder with this? Thanks.

You can use Bullseye but you kinda have to keep a low charge and low muzzle velocity. Its a fast powder and a fairly heavy bullet for it. It would work better with a slower powder to get closer to the 1000fps range. Power Pistol, Blue Dot, etc would be a good match.

+1 to the above advice. And really watch your seating depth. The pressure can go up really fast in a 40.

I had found some information on starting with 3 grains. I believe that was showing around 750 fps. I guess I should stay close to the max length on the cartridge for seating depth?

I only have data for the Lyman 175gr but it shows 4-5gr of Bullseye is 654-842FPS and OAL of 1.1" out of a 4" barrel.
