Herters Model 3 with a turret on it.
Homemade or an option????
Looks like it might work.
Ram might be to short.
But it does look like it was used.

It was sold by Herters. It also came with a ram extension.

Never saw that option in their catalog nor have I ever seen one listed for sale. So I would not venture an opinion one way or another. Interesting though, james

I guess this would have made sense to somebody watching every penny and literally having to go in baby steps, but a Model 234 makes a lot more sense in the long run if you wanted a turret.

I've never seen something like this before.
Turret part looks a little rough.
Bolts look out of place.
Seller wants way to much for shipping.
Trying to get them to put it in a flat rate box before I bid on it.
No response, so probably a no go.
Sure looks odd.

As I posted on the ARTCA board, it's a Herter's Turn-O-Matic loading tool. It fits all the #3 based Herter's presses. There is a 3" long ram extension required to make it work.
Handgun and small rifle cartridges wort the best, though it's mainly a poor mans solution to a non existent problem.
Production was low, likely it consisted of the initial production run and was then dropped. 1967-1969 time frame.

Just saw that reply.
Thinking about it, the space between the shell holder and die must be kind of small.
Pistol only????
I'd stick with the Model 234 instead.
It is interesting.
