I have a New Frontier in 44-40 that I am having a difficult time finding a value on. When I do a Google search every SAA ever built comes up and most of the New Frontiers seem to be.22s. I purchased this pistol in the early 80s and still have the box for it. It has been fired and there are some marks and scratches on the cylinder. I can try and post some pics later if they will help.

Get the right live auction, with two or more people wanting it, and $2,500 or more would not surprise me.

Insurance value? No idea.

Less desirable than 44 special and 45 colt. They probably didn’t make too many in that chambering but more than demand. In my opinion, it might bring $1500 on gunbroker.

1,500-2,000 dollars based on your description + $250 for the box. In mint, unfired condition you could expect 2300-2900 for it, but in the 44-40 caliber, they seem to be lower priced than the 45's and 357's. The 44 Specials seem to be even more high priced. For some reason, the New Frontiers don't seem to have the cachet of the regular SAA, and run about 10%-15% less than the "Cowboy" style guns.

I have no idea what they are worth but it sounds like a neat 44-40 to have :)

Thanks for the input guys. Jack thanks for the link. I can never get a search that specific. Now to decide if I want to sell it or not.
