What's the best accuracy you've been able to squeeze out of yours? Loads?

The wife had one a long time ago and it shot all over the place. She mentioned replacing it and I was hoping that we might be able to do a little better if we're reloading for it.

I have 2, ( unfortunately I inherited my late sons 2a1 as well as mine). So far we have only shot the Indian surplus ammo of which is about all gone now but both shoot well so my plan is for Lyman’s 311644 190 grain. Hope it works as it’s really accurate in other rifles.

I've never really tried mine for accuracy, mainly just used it for blasting with various M80 ball equivalents. When I did try cast in it, I went with the Lee 312-185 sized to .311 in front of 16 grains of 2400, WLRP.

The origin of the rifling made tailored rounds for it about ¼" longer than my other 7.62 NATO, A Parker Hale barrel on a 98 Mauser, so I just loaded to fit both rifles.

I haven't done anything with mine for a few years.

Cargo,

Is the 2A1 the Jungle Carbine clone or the MkIII? WHAT Load, "Shot all over the place?" What Load was that?

I've one of these Indian No.1MKIII and pulled it out of the safe and my buddy said what the heck is that?. And that started a 5 minute story. He did perk up when I said to use only 7.62 Nato loads in it.

Cargo,

Perhaps you just need to "roll" a few rounds and do a little bench time. My loads may, or may not, work for you.
My Indian .308 MKIII and Jungle Carbine arms shoot better than I can hold.

Be Well.
