Glad I kept one of the $499 ones I bought brand New Years ago. They other was stolen. Sill have the blue plastic box and serial number for it. The box and warranty paperwork is probably worth as much as what I paid for the pistol back in day.lol, I wouldn’t pay a third of the current going price for one. Colt must plan on only selling a few to the rich and shameless at that price. I’d rather have a Ruger in my hand if I were out hunting. I can’t believe they are double the price of the the new Python which was always their top dog.

The guns retail is 1499. The new action should be better than the previous. If one is interested, they should put their name on the list of a larger distributor and not what some individual tries get for theirs.

Colt seems to make one bad business decision after the other. The new Colts are not in the class of the old. They did the same trick with the AR they were going to market to Vietnam Vets. Wanting about 4 times as much as their standard offerings. It turns out that they were contracted out of house anyway.

The American gun companies made millions off military sales. They didn’t like to put money back in the factories. Profit taking, diversification and poor management has killed them all. Getting their nose into politics didn’t help either. Colt was double crossed and left out in the cold. The workers being UAW wasn’t helpful either.

FWIW, I'd rather buy a Taurus than a new Colt.

It's been a long time since Colt applied the old, deep, dark blue that is on the original Pythons.

Guess I shouldn't be packin' and shootin' my Anaconda....appears to be worth it's weight in gold.... Excellent 44 Magnum BTW. Throats are .429 and the barrel is .429 ....it is superbly accurate.

Larry, if I can go out and shoot my Python on a regular basis I bet you can shoot your Anaconda all you want :)

At this point a few more thousand rounds won't hurt the value any ;)

What i "should do" and what I will do [keep packin' and shootin'] are two different things.....

I got the Anaconda to pack and shoot and so I will, could care less about what someone else thinks it's worth or what will happen to it after I'm gone.
