I recently splashed out and shot some Eley ammo and that stinky primer or powder.

I thought it was just the way the rich elite folk stunk with all their harsh chemical brass dissolving solutions and what not.
Is it healthy.
Smells like burning plastic. Do they powder up 35mm film and use that at propellant or something?
Probably no rimfire is healthy but it seems to linger and get up my sinuses.
Pawhhh.

Or is it the smell of my hard earned money being burnt I’m choking on?

Is this a special Eley-tist signature so we can recognise one another when we look down our noses at one another.

I feel that I have joined some special weird secret hand shaking mob.

And why are people talking to me al of a sudden?

Thanx
Bruce.

And why are people talking to me al of a sudden?

I'm not familiar with Eley stuff and its smell,
but I've noticed people seem to be more friendly if I smell like Hoppe's #9 and burnt gunpowder.

I'm not sure if it is some sort of cologne type essence, or it just hides my normal funk.:bigsmyl2:

It's funny - I didn't notice the smell on Sunday. Maybe the wind direction. I have noticed it before though and with Aguila ammo which I'm told is Eley primed. Curious.

I think any fired primer or burned powder is healthy.

I fired some Aguila ammo a couple days ago you can smell the Eley priming. It is sort of a sweet smell.

Is it the same smell the Įguila Colibri emit? That always reminded me of super glue.

I think some of you should avoid it, it is lead free.

Lead free.....well that would mean I might remember where I put something every now and again.

I read it was the lube but that can’t be right.
Beeswax and lard.
Maybe they stick the bullets in with super glue.
Could be the secret recipe.

And there I was/am.
Making a sizer so I maybe can get better accuracy out of one gun thinking that the tit on the Eley ammo was something but it’s just a snub from nose pour moulds?
I thought they we swaged. Anyhoo.
Got Cci Eley stds to try.
No smell thou.
Maybe I can strike a match every now and again or something.

Strike a match or something?? Now that is FUNNY!! I haven't thought of that little "deodorizer" trick for probably 60 years, ever since we became acquainted with aerosol air fresheners. [smilie=l:

Are you smelling burned beeswax?

No. It’s not the smell of burnt bees wax.
I use 50 bw/ 50 vasalene as a lube.
Smells nothing like that at all.
