No, I don't have the answer as to how to solve yours if you are having one. But I would like to make a proposal to the membership in general.

Should we, or shouldn't we, start imposing a $5 fine for whining? :kidding:

I've always been puzzled by people who whine about common problems as if they alone are affected by it.

The guy that complain about the cost of 45 colt ammunition and then throws his brass on the ground leaves me speechless but happy .

That's funny, Mr. Murphy! But how will we collect?

Nah, they wouldn't pay it, and if they quit---- there wouldn't be anybody to point at and laugh.

I was taught to "keep yer mouth shut" if one doesn't have a solution. Or words to that effect...with either "the look" or a smack. It's amazing how many useful applications this advice covered.

That's too much. I don't have a whole lot of money and $5 would really eat into my grocery money. I can barely keep gas in my car to go to work. Speaking of work, I wish they would raise the minimum wage.
I wanted to get all this in before you actually implemented the $5 charge because that's probably ten bucks worth already.

I nominate M-Tecs to audit and dispense justice.

I like the idea, like a swear jar, but what to do with the millions we will accumulate. Ive got it, we can start a foundation for disenfranchised lube grooves.

I propose dispensing an education tax. I typically call these things the price of an education. Obviously it will all be IOU's, but when dispensing wisdom one could earn back those IOU's, thus encouraging sharing/mentoring, and if all goes well, you depart this world with a surplus of these IOU's. The only thing I can't quite figure out is what to call them.

To explain what I mean about the price of an education, we typically learn things in three ways. The least retained method (I'll call it method three) is to learn it from others, such as via teaching. We expend time and/or money to learn those things. The second method is to learn from the pain of others, and the third and most retained method is learning things for oneself. The latter can also be paid for by pain, blood, and should that education result in death, we become the teacher of method two. When we ask a question before doing any research ourselves, we trade method three (from others) for method one (from ourselves) and do ourselves a disservice, hence the penalty, or education tax.

I don't think the original proposal is clear enough Where does the money go? Does Murphy hold the funds? Or perhaps it is 5 bucks for each member who doesn't complain. I think we should form a study group and work out out the details. I will give up my time to be on the group (funded by the fines) to establish the rules. Lets see if we can get abunaitoo to host at his house. I need his address so I can ship over my surfboard for the meeting.
