I have had this old Colt mold for quite a while , its been sitting on my bench for a while . Overall its in decent shape for it's age and the cavities look nice given how old it is. The sprue plate is missing which is not really all that uncommon for these molds I am told , at one point I thought about trying to fabricate a sprue plate for it then decided against it. As I pair my reloading / casting equipment down I would like to find this another home with a fellow bullet caster who can appreciate it , and maybe put it back into service.

I tried to come up with a reasonable price as I am asking $100 shipped to your door. If that is too high I am more than willing to entertain reasonable offers , and I am very open to trades .

Anyway I really want to see this go to a good home thanks so much .

Is this for a .36 or .44?

44 caliber when I measured it with calipers .

That is very cool, is it marked as being made by Colt?

The colt markings on this style mold are on the sprue plate as I understand it . Some of the brass molds were marked on the bottom , typically there will be a C stamped on the molds but I’m generally hesitant to remove the patina to find the marks

Since there does not appear to be a way to confirm that it is in fact a Colt produced mold, what are you looking for in trade?

I’ve been looking for a steel 500 grain 45/70 mold , Lyman, Saeco, RCBS, Lachmiller ..

I have what appears to be the exact same mould, except mine has a sprue plate. If whoever buys this want to make a sprue plate for it I would be glad to send lots of pics with measurements. Never tried to use mine as there is a great deal of daylight showing at the bottom, plus a slight crack at the tip or the Conical nose. Looks good on my shelf, though.
