Obviously anyone on here is aware of the reloading component shortage. While searching for primers I found an interesting find. A gun shop in Australia that is fully stocked with American brand primers at closer to "normal" prices. I've also heard many other countries are not experiencing primer shortages. Very interesting.

It probably helps that most other countries are not selling millions of new firearms every month.

The prices I saw on the linked site were at least 3 times higher than "normal". $10.15 per sleeve? (Is that US dollars?)...

No

There normal 9mm price I think is around $50 Australian per 50 so these maybe the normal price for them..

Our stupid laws here prevent posting primers by mail and even exporting back to USA. Without saying too much, I wanted 1000 Sierra 45gn SP's (1210's) and rang the shop to be told "Yes we have plenty". Went for a 6 hour return trip only to find they had only one box of 100!

The last time I bought primers they were running $29.00-$31.00 per brick in So. CA and Oregon ($3.00 per sleeve). Bought 1k CCI LP in So. Oregon at the small town box store in 2019 for $29.95, IIRC...

While those of us that live outside the US may still be able to get reasonably priced primers, the sources are the same as US. SO, it is only a matter of time until our stores are depleted and we are in the same boat as you.

The remaining three guns in Australia probably don’t use that many primers.

My goodness. I had received an Email notification that Brownells had some primers back in stock! By the time I had opened up the website and logged in, they were already gone! The one chance that they get back in stock and they were off the shelves.

If ... and I mean IF ... that company in Austraila CAN and is willing to ship primers to you ... the international hazardous shipping cost will at least double the price ... My wife works for a company that does shipping and she doesn't believe you can legally ship primers from Austraila to here .
So before you buy too many ...check the shipping and HAZMAT fees ... might surprise you !

100% Kalifornia has more gun owners than Aussie or the Eu combined. They all require ammo & ammo requires primers. If there are 30m active gun owners, guys/gals that shoot say 100rds a month, it is what, 3B rds a month? Consider annual prodction for all centerfire ammo is 4-5B annually, you can see the shortage issues. What, 7-8m new gun owners last years? If each got 100rds, another 700-800m rds.

We have one and he is a lot younger than yours, so there is less likely he will drop dead first! Pity!

The address of the store is in Australia.
100 Australian dollars (for a brick) is about $76. US.

the $10.15 would be a little less than $8. US
