Finally got to shoot some loads threw the old girl today. With 31 -h335, it will shoot just under an inch @ 50 yards. Shooting the rcbs, and the ranchdog prototype that sundog sent me,,,, The other day, the ranchdog beat up the rcbs boolit, but today, the rcbs had the advantage. This thing is acting like my 35 rem marlin, as you approach max loads the thing stops grouping tight, and starts flinging!

I turned a friend on to cast boolit shooting this last weekend. He is hooked! Anyhow in teaching him about loading and working up loads we took some within a couple grains of max powder and groups went south quickly. I explained to him about the strength of lead alloys and what happens when there is more p-ressure than the alloy can take. Backing off some the groups tightened right back up.
You did not mention your alloy or if'n it is heat treated etc. Sounds like mebbe you just are overpowering the alloy strength. Proper alloy and heat treating should enable full power loads with either round.

I assume that this load shoots well? I havent delved into reduced loads,as of yet. Frankly, I wouldnt know where to begin.
