Have you ever forgotten a promise? Maybe God spoke something to you at some time in the past, and you have given up or stopped believing in His promises. Perhaps you found a Scripture that you held on to, and in the busyness of life, you just forgot. That happened to Mary Magdalene. Jesus proclaimed that He would rise again on the third day, and yet the two Marys showed up at the tomb on the third day expecting to see a closed tomb. Instead, they found the stone rolled away, and the body of their Lord was no longer there.
Luke 24:4-7 tells us what happened next;
Behold, two men stood by them in shining garments. Then, as they were afraid and bowed their faces to the earth, they said to them, "Why do you seek the living among the dead? He is not here, but is risen! Remember how He spoke to you when He was still in Galilee, saying, 'The Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.'''
Then they remembered His words. The angels had to remind them of what Jesus had previously promised. He was no longer there; He had risen! This morning ask God to bring to mind the promises that He has made to you in the past that you might have forgotten. His promises are true for you today and the day you first received them.
