I have a CZ 452 and like a fool I lost the retaining pin for the base plate on one of my factory steel magazines.

This is a pretty small part and if I had a small lathe I could make one, if only...

Does anyone know where a person could buy just this part?

Or, can anyone make me one?

Cheers

Without one in front of me I couldn't say for sure but, you might be able to fabricate a replacement with the head of a finishing nail.
It's a non-critical part, basically a spring loaded detent to prevent the floor plate from sliding off.

Oooh good "point!"

I will get out in the garage and have a look, that might just work.

Thanks

Just tossing this out there:
Find a finishing nail with a head that is roughly the size of the hole in the floor plate.
Cut the nail down so the head and shank are just a little longer than you need.
Chuck the nail in a drill with the head sticking out, use a file to turn the head down to the needed diameter.
Flip the part and file to length and diameter to fit the spring.

Done.

Right after you do all of that, you will look down and see the original one you lost. You now have a spare :D

I believe this to be true.

I would second that, except it's so dang small I think it's gone for good. I've swept the garage floor numerous times and gone through everything with a magnet.

I was thinking this idea is fantastic, easily done with a small file and the drill press.

But I still need a lathe... ;-)

If you mean the spring loaded plunger that retains the magazine base plate DIP Industries (Diversified Innovative Products) Out of Idaho carries the plunger and spring set up for $5.

Thank you David, I ordered and I received already. (Probably helps with both of us being in Idaho)

I bought their kit and it's perfect.
