I will be casting for Glocks and a SRH. I have a Lee 90470 145gr SWC mould and a 200gr Keith style swc mould on order from Arsenal.

My question is, do I need a 175gr mould?

If you have barrels with polygonal rifling, they will lead like crazy. Please check your barrels before proceeding any farther. Glocks have been known split barrels and worse.

SWC in a glock? Never done it. Might have feeding problems. 165gr will do better for 40sw, the Lee 175 TC works fine in my 40s. Unfortunately I wore out the mould so got what I wanted from Accurate.

No you don’t need it but for 20$ For the lee 2 cavity mold :it makes a great lead bullet to shoot. My lee 401 tc 175 is my favorite mold in my 40’s . Don’t know how it will do in the glock but my 40,s shoot great with it. I tried the lee 145 swc and it does good but the 175 seems to do a little better in my high point carbine. Iam not a great pistole shot but the lee 175 lubed with white label 45/45/10 lube shot unsized shoot ragged holes at 25 yards out of my carbine with 4x scope or red dot. The powder that did the best for me out of the longer bbl was a high end of hs6. The closer I got to the max load the group closed up to a ragged hole. I also found Rainer or x caliber heavy plated bullets also shot really good.no sizing with the lead bullets just expand the case mouth with the NOE expander and load. I got the load on the hodgen reloading site. The 145 seemed to do ok like I said iam not a good pistol shot but got a good 3 to 3 1/2 group at 15 yards which is good for me out of my 40 pistols. I also tried light loads of bullseye I thank around 3.8 to 4.3 gr that did decent . I also tried auto comp but need to test a little more.I liked the lee tc bullet so much that I got it in 9mm and 45 also. Just a really good bullet.got the non tumble lube bullet but still tumble lube them

If it was me I would not go lighter than 175 for the 40 and the 200 in the ten but I tend to like full weight bullets at moderate velocities . Personal preference unless your guns tell you a certain weight works better.
Feed them what they like :)

You ask this question to this group of enablers, and expect any answer other than YES you do?

Slug your barrel size accordingly check frequently at first for leading. My glock 27 never leaded when I had it.

I would go for a 175 or better a 165gr bullet. I think 145 is too light for the 10mm and 200 a bit heavy for the 40cal. And sometimes 200 is a bit heavy for them both. Ymmv

just get a storm lake barrel for your Glock and no worries and no more bulged brass. i'vs shot all 3 Lyman mould bullets with great results in my g22. I guess they only make 2 these days the 38-40 has been discontinued

Same here. Got the 120gr for 9mm, it shot so well I picked them up in 175gr for .40 and 230gr for .45 as well. All 6 bangers.

I like the Accurate 40-180BG for 10mm and the HTC402-188WFn BV1 for my 40 S&W.
I shoot 10mm in a Ruger GP100 and 40 in a Glock 35 with a KKM barrel.

Sent from my iPhone using TapatalkBe careful with those Lone Wolf barrels.
I bought one for my 10mm and the chamber is to tight and the throat was very abrupt.
Bought a KKM barrel and it works great!

I have never had leading in any of my stock Glock barrels. I have Models 21 and 22. My H&K .45 has no problem with cast boolits either and I believe it has polygonal rifling. I could care less. Have you ever actually encountered leading or are you just going on rumor? If you had leading, most likely your boolit diameter was too small and your alloy too hard.

Don't ask the question ...Do I Need ... pick up a Lee 401-175-TC # 90256 just because it's there .
The truncated cone is a neat design , usually feeds well in semi-autos and can also be loaded for use in revolvers ... Need ain't got nuthin to do with it ...just get it !
