Ruger buys Marlin from Remington

Has this been discussed here? I think Ruger will do a much better job then Remington. Maybe will not see the micro grove barrels again. I am very interested. I read somewhere that Ruger said they would be producing the Marlins by this fall. Any one have any info on this?

Ruger is making some nice hammer forged barrels. And their investment casting expertise will be a big plus too. How about a Super Saddle Hawk carbine in .44 mag?

Investment casting would make sense, since it greatly reduces machining, and with a well operated process, it's actually stronger than machined from block parts! However, in answer to your question, I have no idea.

Forging makes sense, however, investment casting would probably bring cost down, with a net balance on strength. Rugers call.
