Mrs Thumbcocker and I got the Johnson &Johnson vaccination today. The shots were given by Illinois National Guard troops working with our county health department. We registered online yesterday and were sent tickets to our phones.

The vaccination was done in the gym of a local church camp. We arrived early, had our tickets scanned, were asked some preliminary questions. We then went to a table where we were given our cards and our shots. The medic that gave our shot was completely professional and very polite. She explained everything and did a great job wit the shot. We ten went and sat on some folding chairs for 15 minutes in case we had a reaction. There were tv monitors set up that displayed the time. We had a note on our cards saying what time we could leave.

There was a senior nco walking around the waiting area visiting with people and making sure everyone was doing ok. I was glad to see him spend several minutes talking to a man wearing a Vietnam veteran hat.

When our time was up our tickets were scanned again and we left. Whenever a chair was vacated a soldier wiped it down with disinfectant.

In short the whole process was quick, efficient, and well organized. The troops were courteous and professional and had their stuff together. The senior nco said they liked what they were doing.

So I ended up with my vaccination, a SpongeBob band aid, and appreciation of what Americans can do when they set their mind to it. Also I couldn't help but notice how well bdu trousers fit.

Our places here do a lot of two lane 'drive throughs'. You never get out of your car.
After the shot- you pull through to a parking lot, wait the 15 minutes, and leave.

Mine was in a tent set up in front of the Big Sur Health Center. It was the J&J with a similar routine as Thumbcocker but the regular Health Center crew did the shots.

I felt great the next morning but wanted a nap by 3pm. Low energy the following day too.

No desire to eat brains or sell my guns so I guess it's safe.

The new camo uniform are called ACUs. My son says they are uncomfortable compared to BDUs.

Our county public health department does a drive-thru vaccination clinic. They use 4 stalls of the local rescue squad building, that has overhead doors on the entrance and exit side. The stalls are at least 40 ft deep so they can easily get two vehicles in each stall. They will vaccinate over 100 per hour.

I got my second jab of the Pfizer vaccine last week. WV National Guard, Health Dept. and WV University Health System working together at the armory were well organized and thoroughly professional, set up to do 1000 vaccinations a day here. Registered online through Veteran's Administration, or WVU Health system, got email confirmation of appointment date and time. 45 minutes in and out including intake screening and waiting 15 minutes after jab to ensure no adverse side effects.

No issues with either jab. I'm good to go. https://dhhr.wv.gov/COVID-19/Pages/default.aspx

IMHO there is no such thing as a vaccine clinic done right! How can one get an experimental vaccine for a Virus that has never been isolated, feel good about DNA modification and then brag about it?

How does one stand in line for a vaccine for a non isolated virus that has over a 99% survival rate and many known treatments.

all I can say I hope all you folks that don't want to believe in a vaccine don't end up getting the fever and wind up in the hospital hooked up to a bunch of pipes and tubes, and if you survive hope you can pay your medical bills without going bankrupt. but then again why not gamble with your health its only like 1 or 2 per hundred or something like that, that end up dying. who you gonna will your guns and moulds to.

My mother is 81. Mrs. Thumbcocker's father is 88. We will be interacting with them. We are not super worried about ourselves. We do not want to be responsible for infecting others.

Ultimately it is no one else's business why we chose to get vaccinated. The purpose of the op was not to "brag" about getting the vaccine but to compliment the professionalism of those who organized and carried out the clinic, especially the national guard troopers.

The site we used here in the PHX area was the parking lot of a local college. 10 lanes of shots for P brand of vaccine. Both times we went the wait was very short and never left the car.

AZ finally has their ducks in a row!

I liked the part about ''registration'' and ''the cards''

I refuse to gamble with my health. THAT is why I am refusing to be vaccinated.

If you want it done wrong come to Oregon. Just spent 3 weeks in So. Cal. closing up my house. Managed to get my first Pfizer shot while there. Oregon had to do bus drivers before old people. Now back in Oregon and no one will talk to me until after my 2nd shot due date. The Oregon system of the state running everything sucks. Drs. and hospitals know how to vaccinate. let them do it.

We live in a city of about 40K. A FB post said the public health department was giving our 275 shots of J&J until they ran out. I am 67, wife is approaching 66. Have been waiting on my specialists doc to give me the go-ahead but decided to take a chance and go with the J&J after researching it and talking with some pastors.

It was in a mall, a former JC Penny store, very organize when you came in, lines marked, kept you moving, etc. The only thing I question is they didn't read my history which I checked as having a lung disease. Anyway, the nurses was great, hardly felt the shot, no arm pain for either of us. That was about 11:30 am. By 9:00pm I could feel something coming on. Tired, achy and ready to go to bed. Woke up at 12:30 sweeting and hurt pretty good all over. I am just now getting back to somewhat normal today at 4:00.

The nurse told me I would have a reaction and the more the better. More reaction was a sign of a good immune system which is a good thing. Wife breezed through it like she normally does.

Yep. And if you are not sick you cannot make others sick. No reason to get vaccinated and plenty not to.

Yes let’s skip the trials and have the public test not one or two ‘ vaccines’ but four with none of the normal scientific scrutiny afforded everything else . RNA is gene therapy , no thanks. Those of you who think it’s a good idea have at it. I’ll be the ‘ laggard’ with no ‘ card’ , no mask, not sick. The last time we did this with the Polio vaccine all kinds of bad juju came out of the Salk vaccines. History is a cruel mistress .

Sounds exactly like mine except it was in a conference building at a local hospital complex. Got the Pfizer vaccine so back next week for shot #2 and I'm done. They also gave me a pin that says. "I got vaccinated" on the top. I put some white tape over the bottom and changed that part to say "Thanks to Trump's Operation Warp Speed." Once again the United States saves the World.....

Be safe!
