So I've been gathering ingredients for a new melt. Today arrived carnauba wax, 8 ounces of it.

I've also got 3 pounds of beeswax and a half pound of vaseline. My usual recipe is a pound of wax and about 4ish ounces of both vaseline and lanolin.

Any idea what I should do with the carnauba, ratio-wise? Replace a few ounces of beeswax with it and start from there?

2% is a good place to start, More is not better.

A little goes a long way. I aim for 1% in my Ben's Liquid lube and it works great.

No more than 2% for sure.

I would leave your original recipe alone as far as proportions.

According to my calculator that would be in the neighborhood of 12.500 grains total. Subtract 2 zero's for 1% gives you 125 grains for 1%, or 250 for 2% or wherever in the middle you feel comfortable. Melt the carnuba when you melt the beeswax and stir.

Your going to love what your bores look like in a few months.
