It has been a couple of years since I last checked in on you folks. Howdy to one and all, old and new.

Good to see you back.

There was vicious rumors that we needed to gather up ransom money,
or that you might have been shot by a jealous husband while climbing out of some cute young lady's window.

Friends, my absence was the result of being pretty sick. I won't go into all the details, but I have been in failing health for some years now. It was finally diagnosed via bone marrow biopsy as Waldenstrom's Macroglobulinemia, which is a rare form of Indolent B Cell Lymphoma. While it is not curable, it is treatable. I was on oral meds for almost two years and those drugs took a turn south. I am now on Chemo infusion and that is working well. I have finished 4 of 6 monthly rounds. The chemo has me limited in what I can do, the brains seems to be hitting on all cylinders. If all works as planned this chemo will put the cancer in remission for a few years. I have hopes that on the other side of chemo, I will gain strength and have a more active life. We will see. In the meantime, I will pester you from time to time and correct any of your obvious bad thinking. :-) Do not worry about me, my faith is stronger than ever.

I've only been active here for about a year, so I hadn't known to miss you, but I have a whole lot of errors yet to make, so a little adult supervision would probably not be amiss.

Welcome back CG. I have to admit that when I saw your post a while ago I quickly looked for your heavenly address. While I do think we will have diversions in heaven like cast boolits, I am especially glad that you are getting the best of that rare whatever you called it. I'll be praying for a looooong spell of remission for you.

A little extra time to do what you enjoy is always good. The enthusiasm makes the bad stuff diminish by comparison.

I was diagnosed with Waldenstrom's in 2011. Started out with chemo. First session was to get it under control which it did kindof. 2nd session was to get it under real control. Didn't. After 9 mos number stated going real high. 3rd session wasn't much better. At that point I decided that I could live the three weeks between monthly sessions and about 3 mos between the six month sessions. Dr. changed medicine and session 4 was Retuxin and Florbidide (not sure of spelling). It worked, four years between chemo sessions. Repeated the same dosage and got three years before a new session. One dose of new stuff before I moved. Am seeing a new Dr in Portland. He backed off on my treatment but have been getting monthly blood tests. Will see Dr. in mid April to discuss where we are going. It is not the best diagnoses but it is not the worst diagnosis. Hopefully you will have as much luck as I in treating Waldenstrom's.

Hello, Charles. I'm glad to see you back in the fold. Not more than a few minutes ago I read a short Glenn Fryxell article (www.lasc.us/FryxellCB25-20Win.htm) about the 25-20 Win. He mentioned you and some load work you had done. It was all good information, and quite timely for my current 'experimentation'.

I missed your wisdom, guidance, and otherwise good natured bantering.

My best to you in recovery.

When did BruceB "leave the range"? 20 years ago we used to send PM's back and forth when he worked the night shift at the mine near Winnemucca. I'll always remember the Cast Boolit rendevous he honcho'd at Winnemucca in 2001!

Shuz,
Bruce passed in 2015. Didn't quite make it to NCBS that year, but was still there in spirit.
