A friend at work is a part time auctioneer and he gets thing for me once in a while. So he brings me this box of 243 brass. I get to cleaning it up and run across some super-x 6mm win on some headstamps????? Same size as the others so I'm thinking it is old?? anyone know for sure? The bag also had winchester,w-w super, super speed, R-P,super-x, and FC headstamped brass but they all said 243 win on them

Someone probably resized some 6mm to .243. I've made 6mm brass from 30/06 brass.

if they said 6mm win on them they are 243.
the others would say 6mm rem,or 244 rem on the headstamp.

Seems to me I recall that at first, Winchester wanted to call the .243 the 6MM Win. but decided against it. Also, they could have been meant for sales to foreign countries.
I have some oddball .358 Win. brass that is in reality .356 brass that are mis-stamped. Your brass might have some collector value.
