View Full Version : Sizing and PC?

I have a good sized collection of bullets that need to be sized down about 8 thousandths. I want them to be PC for use, but with that heavy of a sizing I would think it would tear the coating during sizing. I may be wrong, but it seems like maybe I should size, coat, and size again, but I might be able to get by with sizing after coating, but at that point it would be more like 10 thousandths that would be sizing down.

I’m still new to all of this so this may be a dumb thing to be worrying about... if it is just tell me and I will feel better moving forward.

The first question is-- why do you have "a good-sized collection of bullets that need to be sized down about 8 thousandths"

Is the mold dropping too big?
Are the boolits for a different caliber?

I would say melt them down and cast boolits the size you need.

Sizing down that far, even in several steps has a high probability of deforming the boolit.

I agree thats alot of sizing. Your headed for problems NOTHING TO DO WITH PC!!!

Yes it can be done but as suggested your better off melting down and recasting.

Good luck

are you going from one caliber to the next?
8 thow is a whole bunch of sizing
may want to get a different mold something a bit closer to the size you need
