Well just finished smelting my two buckets of wheel weights. I ended up with 185.5 pounds or 1,298,500 grains which ever way you want to look at it.
What to do What to do :Fire:

Do you guys seperate all the Zinc weights, or do you just hurry and remove them when the lead is melted?
What is the approximate gain from say 100lbs of WWs? I ask cause I have about 500lbs that I look forward to melting down when winter is over, and am eager to know how much "pure" WW-lead I'll end up with....

Both.I try to seperate but miss a few.Keep a close watch on my melt, try to stay under 700, and skim off the float.

I just watch my melt closely and skim off the ones that float.

I try to seperate my zinc weights but some always get over looked. I watch the smely too and remove them as soon as I see them floating.
Imagine 400lbs = 2,800,000 grains or 15,555 180gr bullets.
