Tried messaging Fly to get a puck die, no luck.

Can anyone help me find one?

Thanks.

Ok, what’s a puck die? It's a pressing die. Basically a cylinder with a piston in specific dimensions to press powder for greater density...creates a puck of powder that gets dried, them broken up (corned) and sifted through varying grades of screen mesh to grade out the size of particles.

If you go to a machine shop, they can make you one. Mine has a 2"pvc cylinder surrounded by a heavy piece of steel. If it gets galled, new piece of pvc fixes it.

I made one using a piston wrist pin from a large diesel engine and just machined a punch with a close fit. That on my 12 ton cheapo press makes a real tight puck. Some wrist pins have a smooth hole in them and some don't and they are very hard so don't scratch easily. A file will just skate without a mark.

I have one of Fly's works great with a 6 ton press. Not a high Tec tool just a sleeve with a piston. I made a bigger one but his works better. I get better compaction with the smaller diameter.
