My Lab Gunner he's (my baby) turned 12 the 2rd of March, He is just not doing well, getting hard for him to get up and down. This pass week he has had the Dry heave's, also losing his appetite can't get him into the vet till next week. Just about cried out,
That is him on my Avatar.

I have lost many dogs over the years and it is never easy. Never prayed over a dog but will do so for you. Hope its just a temporary sickness. Labs have short life spans.

I am so very sorry for your loss. We lost a Pomeranian almost 26 months ago then another Pomeranian a little over 5 months ago. Both of them were family and I miss both of them more than words can describe. I wear some of their ashes around my neck daily.
May God wrap his loving arms around you and comfort you in a mighty way.

I know the pain you're feeling right now, I lost my golden last weekend.
I must confess that taking him to the vet was the absolute hardest thing I've every had to do.

I hope this empty feeling passes for you and your wife, I know I'm struggling at the moment as well.

It’s always difficult because we live longer than our K-9 companions. It’s just the way things are. We should be happy for the time we shared with them.

Do dogs go to Heaven, I think so.
When does the hurting stop if ever.

Do dogs go to Heaven, I think so.
When does the hurting stop if ever.

From my limited knowledge of the Bible, I do not believe dogs go to heaven. I hope I am wrong.

The hurt ebbs but never disappears for me. If it went away completely, it would be a sad commentary on the person. I am sure, I would not want such a person as a friend.

My heart goes out to the family.
I'm sure you'll all see each other again someday.
I have a few waiting for me.

Animals don't sin and therefore are welcomed back into heaven.

Thanks everyone for your prayers. Maybe someday the hurting will stop.
I believe they go to Heaven because in Isaiah it says " the Lion shall lay down by the lamb", if they will be there I am sure my Gunner boy will be.

Bodies die Bodies are resurrected. 1 Corinthians 15:39-42
New International Version
39 Not all flesh is the same: People have one kind of flesh, animals have another, birds another and fish another. 40 There are also heavenly bodies and there are earthly bodies; but the splendor of the heavenly bodies is one kind, and the splendor of the earthly bodies is another. 41 The sun has one kind of splendor, the moon another and the stars another; and star differs from star in splendor.

42 So will it be with the resurrection of the dead. The body that is sown is perishable, it is raised imperishable;

Gods creations that can die, do. And return to the creator. Romans 8 20 For the creation was subjected to frustration, not by its own choice, but by the will of the one who subjected it, in hope 21 that the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the freedom and glory of the children of God.

It will take a while. My "Mutley" has been in heaven for a year now, so my Dad is spoiling him instead of me.

I lost two labs that I and my family dearly loved so I know your pain and the deep empty hole left in heart. They were both males, black as midnight, with very distinctive personalities. They both made it to 13 and each left many, many fond memories. They were both hunters and I buried one on his favorite beach in Oregon and the other in my duck blind so he will always be there with me. I swore up and down I would never get another dog when they passed, the pain was just too raw, but another puppy would come along and steal my heart away. That hole in your heart will heal in time and I bet you will come across another bundle of love to share your home. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Prayers sent. I just lost my full blood German Sheperd, Buster. 3 weeks ago. Was hard getting him up to the vet for his put down shot. He was over 100 lbs and fearless. His last week I fed him chicken soup from a turkey baster. Had him 13yrs and it was time for him to go. It's not easy and it's never "just a dog". Better news is that I just got another. Maybe I'm a glutten for punishment.

Don't think the hurting ever stops, still find myself crying at nights.
