My girlfriend and I have been down in Yuma, AZ visiting my folks the past couple of weeks. We've been doing something interesting every day.

Been on three off-road trips in the area so far with a local off-road group. The first two were to the north to visit mines and search for petrified wood. Today, we headed west into California and to the Glamis sand dunes.

Tomorrow, we're headed south and east onto the Barry Goldwater bombing range near the Mexican border to check out a couple of plane crash sites and some mines.

My dad said there's normally some illegal immigrant traffic there, but mostly at night. With how crazy things have gotten lately, we have no idea how much traffic we will come across.

Planning on bringing a 9mm PCC as well as my 9mm Sig.

I sure hope you don't run across any drug cartel members, lose your girlfriend and your life.

Be careful, have fun! If you cross into Mexico, don’t even take a pocket knife. If you cross into California- no telling.

Be careful. Many have been taken by the cartels.

PCC’s are fun, but if you feel the need for a rifle then take a rifle.

I have staff that work some of the border areas. Seeing people crossing is common and you never know who they are or why they are crossing, but thus far we don’t engage with them and they don’t engage with us.

Have a blast. Where you are going won't be near as sketchy as walking downtown in say, Portland, Seattle, Frisco, LA --- jd

Not the smartest thing to do. But I am not very brave and not very stupid.

Good to be armed it you cannot avoid trouble. Not good to be armed and not avoiding trouble. If you wind up shooting someone, this thread may not be of assistance.

must be nice to be out of the cold. they were saying it was supposed to be like a spring day here, well on spring days you don't usually have to make a fire to get the frost out of the kitchen sink,
pictures, send us mere mortals some pictures.

It's really a shame that an American citizen can't go anywhere in this country that they would like to without having to "worry" - but thank Biden for what is going on at the border right now. President Trump did more than any other POTUS to shut down the illegals but that's all another topic.

Just remember - very very few cross the border illegally without the Cartel knowing it, assisting in it, forcing it or being involved in it in some way. You may "feel" you are covered and safe because you are armed - think again as you have no idea of who you might run into - things happen during the day just as much as they do at night. In other words - "don't poke the bear".

Hope you have/had a good adventure.

you should go across and get some anti-biotic while your in the neighborhood... you can get most over the counter and they come in handy when your out in the wilds... there are a couple that can be used to treat giardia, which can be easy to pickup from even your hands when dealing with mud and water from off roading..

No illegals spotted. Did see a Border Patrol chopper headed like a bat out of heck towards the border.

Tons of cool and interesting things observed. Found a crashed F-4 Phantom, US military anti-terrorist training village, one piece of unexploded ordinance, and a couple of mines.

Can't post pics to this site from my phone, so may have to wait until I'm back home next week.

Have a friend who lives in Pahrump Nevada. We used to take the AR-50's out to a dry lake bed; check our location via GPS to ensure we were in Nevada at the Firing line - then run out 1000 Yards to 1500 Yards and set up a Target in California - Shooting from Nevada into California with the 50BMG rounds - just to spit in the eye so to speak of the Socialists over there who banned 50BMG Rifles. Guess they fooled us; many of those California Socialists simply moved to Las Vegas and Took the State of Nevada over.

Glad you had safe trip. Enjoyed looking at the pictures. I’ve only been as far south as Tucson, some day we will do a trip further south, looks like fun.
