Does any one out there rendezvous??

I was just looking outside in this blizzard and thinking. How nice it would be to be at a rendezvous right now. I mean in better weather. I guess I'm a fair weather buckskinner. I don't own enough skins or Hudsonbays for this weather.

Good evening When I an up there in the north I attend the Voyager Rondezvous in the Laffayete Indiana area about Septenber time. Colonial era... flintlocks, longbows, pikes...

I have been going to them for about 20 years and have gone from pilgrim in a plastic tent to full primative and finally graduated to a tin tee pee a couple years ago (sleeping on the ground just got too hard for me). I go to half a dozen or more of them a year and shoot up a lot of black powder at them. Lots of fun.

i moved to a marque with a bunk got so i couldn't get up or out of the lodge in the morning and i refuse to tin tee pee! steve k

30 yrs ago, I went with a small piece of canvas for a lean-to a cast frying pan and a hudsonbay blanket. That was about it. Now a pick up box is getting strechted. If at all possible I sleep on a cot I made from one of the Buckskinner mags. Its made from 2X2 oak and awful heavy but it sure is comfy.

We are more shooters than rendezvousers but still wear silly hats.
