OH MAN!
I recently got a moratori arms upper with an 1:8" twist and a pistol gas system. I also have an SLR linear comp and am using a yellow springco spring.
I powder coated the TACO boolits and sized to .309 and it is my normal alloy that tends to be in the 15-16 BHN range. (Barrel slugs at .308 and I had issues feeding at .310.)
I did a quick ladder test with Alliant 2400 and WOW! It is a super fun round to shoot!
I had 5 charges ranging from 7 to 9 grain and the gun cycled even at 7 grain. The bolt locks back at charges above 8.5 grain. It is super quiet and has zero recoil.
Since I am just picking up 223 brass at the range to convert, it ends up costing about 8 cents / round (at prices I bought my stuff for).
One thing to note is that it is quiet enough that the Lab Radar had a hard time picking up shots, so I got between 3 and 5 readings / 5 rounds. But it chrono'd almost exactly where Quick Load indicated it would.
