I am toying with the idea of a suppressor. Anyone shoot coated boolits through one?

I've shot quite a few PC/HT coated bullets through my 45 suppressor. Found it left a hard deposit on the baffles requiring bronze brush scrubbing [after soaking over night in solvent] to clean off. Easier to clean lube off.

Properly applied powdercoat dose not melt flake off leave deposits vaporisze or any such nonesense when fires out of a gun.

Yes i have done extenisve research on this topic.

Outside of carbon and debireis from dirty 22lr. I have never seen anything in my baffels that would indicate a issue with pc.

But this my op.

I haven't noticed anything abnormal in my 9mm or 300 BO. They get steady diets of PC'd bullets.

9mm, 45acp, 357 Maximum (Subs and Supers) and 458 SOCOM all PC'd through my suppressors. No buildup other than the ususal carbon.

Comments in red only to differentiate them.

No, it was PC. I've been cleaning lead and carbon out of comps and suppresessors for a long time and know the difference between them and PC. In a recent thread/post of the extensive tests of 4 different PCs in numerous 45 ACP and 45 Colt firearms on several I removed the PC from the barrel with a Lewis Lead Remover and posted a photo of it. I have had the same from PC/HT coated bullets of numerous caliber from several members. All left PC/HT deposits in some firearms.

Perhaps you are one of the few that can "properly apply PC" ? Good that it works for you but it didn't work well for me. Not to say it's not useable, just said what problems I had.

I have dry brushed bores several times that had been fired with red Hi-Tek and got a pink puff of dust .
It may just be what is abraded off during passage down the bore and caused no problems . I do not get that result often and don't recall if it was with the same gun each time. I have no experience with suppressors so can't comment on that other than it would seem particles of anything in the bore would collect in one.

I've put a few thousand 300 Black, 9mm, and .45 subs through mine. Haven't noticed anything, but it's a sealed can so I can't inspect closely.

Does anything dissolve PC that doesn't harm suppressor finishes?

I cleanup and/or remove cured powder coat with acetone. Will it completely dissolve it with out wiping with a rag I can not say, nor do I know what finishes are used on all suppressors.
