In case anyone is interested in the technique used to produce the trigger shoes I am providing some images of the process.

Cool! Thanks!

I'm going to have to make a stop for my vise.

Nice to see machine projects. Nothing against Bullet Collators just no interest. LOL

I'm a bit confused. What is this thing for, and what does it do? I don't believe I've ever heard of a trigger shoe before, and this looks nothing like what Brownell's shows when I search there. :veryconfu

I have made them like that, there are actually 3 trigger shoes in that ring waiting to be cut apart. Its a much faster easier way than in a mill with rotary table. When done it clamps to a narrow trigger and makes it a wide target style with little modifications or fitting. The holes around the outside are for set screws to hold it in place.

Thanks! Before I saw your answer, I saw the other thread where he has a photo of them cut apart. Between that photo and the responses, I got a clue, and you confirmed it for me. Appreciate it!

That is a slick way to make those ! & 3 at a time . Great idea.

Its much easier to measure the slots and radius, than one at at time. And in the time it takes to set up a rotary table. get the stock clamped down in place you can have 3 made On the lathe. Checkering file heads can be made in the same manner. The lathe dosnt require an special cutters either

Many products in industry are made with similar techniques. Where a profit has to be made more effecient, cheaper and better techniques keep a company in the black. Many tradesmen are trained to find those better techniques. I do it for the fun of doing it now but many years it was my livelyhood.

Same here HDskip, Tool and die maker for toughly 35 years. Its amazing what a .01 or .02 savings adds up to over a years time on a production line

You did a very nice job on those.
