Kimbergunshop.com and kimbergunstore.com look unusually similar. One website says they are in MT and an online chat person from the other said they were in Ripon, CA. I asked the chat person how I could know their business was legitimate and then they just stopped responding.

Both websites have a phone number, both linked a google voice account that was never answered by a person. The one in CA says they are open, but no answer on the phone.

Maybe I’m paranoid and these two are using low cost, prebuilt websites... but I say they are scammers.

Both are “selling” a Kimber K6s DAO w/3” barrel.

Sounds like scammers to me. Prices really good? or too good to be true?

$840. I think Kimber stopped selling the 3” version, which is over $1k anywhere else I find a price.

I put a report in to the BBB.

Ask for their business license number, or check that out through their city or county.

Found something similar with the Sig website. The imposter is the sigsauerstore247.com and the real is sigsauer.com. Imposter site even shows the Sig emblem. They had a lot of things in stock but what made me pause was no credit cards accepted. Spoke to Sig about it and they acknowledged there are a few sites out there like that. No way I am not using a credit card for online purchases.

Can they give you an email address? If it's legit it will end with @kimber.com

The email the gave was contact@kimbergunshop.com

The business license number and only buying with credit card are both good ideas. Definitely not buying online with Venmo or PayPal.

We do have a Kimber shop here in NW Montana. I'm not sure how you would check on scammers.

Anyone can buy an email address as long as it hasn't been purchased. nothing surprising about a kimbergunshop.com email being a scam address. My suggestion is to NOT buy a gun from a business that you are DEFINITELY sure is not a scammer. Trying to pay a few dollars less and losing it all is short sighted. Put an order in at your LCS or wait another 6 months...

I have purchased guns online a couple of times, both transactions went well but the guns did not live up to the pic's, I hope yours go better than mine.
