Has anyone had any experience with the 1888 Commission Rifles (damaged & broken) that Hunters Lodge Corporation is advertising in Firearms News for $109.00? If so, what is your opinion?

The only ones I saw were advertised in the Feb 2021 issue and Royal Tiger Imports wanted $800 to $1100 each for them, depending on condition. Usually the broken and damaged ones are used for parts and may be missing some though.
It sort of gives me sticker shock considering that I bought one many years ago from Sarco and it cost $99.99 plus shipping at the time. Plus it is in really decent condition and shootable too.

go on Gunbroker or put the word out in local shops you are looking for an 1888 and you'll find a better condition rifle. Leave the dregs from HLC as strictly parts supply.

Be sure to ask specifically if the rifle you think about buying has the ejector and the bolt head. All the other parts aren't too hard to find, but those two parts are scarce and expensive.

Thanks all. I think I'll pass on this one.

Yes I forgot to mention that the extractor and bolt head are the two parts that are most critical and rarest too.
