Hi everyone,
I'm the lucky owner of a 38 Long Colt Double action from 1892, with a .375 barrel.
I've tried some workarounds to shoot it (Minié bullets, HBWC, 38 SC heeled bullet) and I've found heeled bullets to be quite superior.
I would like to get a mold for it. An Old West bullet mold (heeled bullets, 150 gns) to be precise. But I live in Europe and they don't ship overseas anymore.
I'm looking for an alternative at Accurate Molds and I've got some hesitations. This model (http://accuratemolds.com/bullet_detail.php?bullet=38-155N) has a generous heel but a small lube groove; this one (http://accuratemolds.com/bullet_detail.php?bullet=38-140H) has the opposite problem and this other one (http://accuratemolds.com/bullet_detail.php?bullet=38-161H) seems to be be designed for rifles (http://castboolits.gunloads.com/showthread.php?419131-38-Long-Colt-Original-Configuration-with-375-quot-Heeled-Bullets&p=5123049&viewfull=1#post5123049).
In your opinion, what could be OK in .375 heeled at Accurate molds with :
- generous lube groove;
- circa 150 gns;
- easy-to-crimp heel size?
Thanks for attention,
TT
