So along comes a buy now auction with a Uberti 50-95 at a real nice price , I know ammo shortage and all , odd caliber , all the classic is this crazy or what .

But the 1873 bug has been scratched a few times and those big versions just have that look to them , so it is a done deal , already in hand , brass acquired from Starline , and been looking through all the old threads for any and all information , now it is time to convert the brass .

First stop harbor freight to buy a chop saw $40 , got the smaller ones as I have metal cutting disks with the 3/8 arbor , saw has 2inch blade on it so guard has to go for 3 inch blades , whacking off a piece and then to the trimmer then chamfer and deburr in the die and out and just a touch long yet , plan to trim to final after its all been done .

Now I have to wait for the mold to be cut and shipped as there is a backlog , still have to get a few more things all ready for next month when I am on my time off to load and if mold is here then I can load .

I have watched your video on shooting your Uberti before , not sure if you had linked it on here or if I was cruising youtube , your Idea there is pretty neat , I found though when I set the brass in it goes right to the raised portion and that is about right where I chop and then finish trim .

I appreciate the links and the idea with your jig , I had read people talking about using tubing cutters , so I did one piece of brass then I looked online for a small cut off saw .

What was your brass as the video did not say ?

I should have been more clear the brass in the Uberti video , was it 50 alaskan or did you use another case .

I have both Ten-X and Jamison 50-95 brass. I mostly use the Jamison.

I was unable to find any 50-95 , why I went with the 50 alaskan , I have done up some of it and empty it feeds through rifle , test of how it all does when I get the mold .

Have you just used the Rapine mold or which ones have you used ? Thank you for your replies

I've tried a couple. I previously discussed my loads on the M1876 Winchester forum, specifically on the .50-95 loading sub-forum. Rather than repeat it all here, I invite you to read it over there.
